Fire Fighter’s Full Pull gears up to thrill fans next week

PRUNTYTOWN—After the cancellation of last year’s event, the Grafton and Fellowsville Volunteer Fire Departments would like to welcome pull enthusiasts to their bigger and better Fire Fighter’s Full Pull event, brought to you in conjunction with the Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series.

Pull fans from all over will be making their way to the Taylor County Fair Grounds for two action packed nights of truck and tractor pulls, hoping to learn whose machine reigns supreme.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Truck Pulling Series will once again be making its way to Taylor County to put on a show for pull enthusiasts of all ages on Friday, August 20 and Saturday, August 21.

“We wanted to do something to show our appreciation to those who have supported us with past events, so to make things even better, we decided to host two nights of excitement,” said Jarrett Cunningham, Vice President of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department.

The pull has gained fame over the past few years and is the only national sanctioned pulling event in the state.

The first truck is set to hit the track on Friday at 7:00 p.m., so be sure to head to the fair grounds to claim a front row seat for all the action. Pulls will last well into the night, and then, action will resume on Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m.

The smell of diesel fumes and the roar of engines will fill the air, as contestants from various classes vie for the winner’s title.

Friday night classes will include Pro Street Diesel Trucks (2.6), SS 4x4, Pro Stock Semi (4.1), Light Limited Super Stock Tractors and Light Limited Pro Stock Tractors.

Saturday will have pull fans cheering on various classes including Street Semi, Pro Street Diesel Trucks (2.6), Light Limited Super Stock Tractors, Light Limited Pro Stock Tractors and 2.5 Diesel Trucks.

According to organizers, in addition to the fun and excitement on the track, they will be holding 50/50 drawings throughout both evenings. And, be sure to make your rounds and visit the vendors at this year’s event.

Pull fans of all ages are welcome. For just $15, guests will be admitted into the event. In addition, for those not wanting to miss any of the action, two-day passes may be purchased for $25.

The Fire Fighters Full Pull is being sponsored locally by Jennings Excavating, Inc.; Serious Diesel Performance; Wilson Works; and Wolfe’s Excavating.

This year marks the sixth year that the fire departments have teamed up to bring the thrilling excitement of the pulls to Taylor County. Proceeds from the event will be divided among the fire departments.

“The community shows us so much support throughout the year and helps us in various ways, so this is our way of giving back to them,” voiced Cunningham. “The pull is a fun event for everyone to enjoy and is just one way of us saying thank you.”

The Battle of the Blue Grass Pulling Series, presented by LiQuiTube, is the distinguished independently owned truck and tractor pulling series in the nation.

Offering numerous classes of pulling vehicles, spectators from the Midwest and South are treated to over 50 events each year. Whether you are a fan of alcohol, diesel or gas-powered vehicles, the series has something for everyone.

Without the support of sponsors such as Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants, US Lube, PBM Performance Equipment, Erson Cams, World Products, BUBBA Burger, Faygo Soda, River City Truck Parts, Thoroughbred Diesel and many others, the show would not be able to reach the over 400,000 fans it does.
