Farming accident claims life of equipment operator

TAYLOR COUNTY—According to the Harrison-Taylor 911 Dispatch Center at approximately 9:48 a.m. on Friday morning first responders were called to the scene of a personal injury accident, at a Taylor County farm, involving a tractor rolling over its driver.

 The Bridgeport Fire Department, along with the Flemington Volunteer Fire Department and the Flemington Medical Emergency Squad and West Virginia State Police arrived to the scene on McDonald Drive, located off of U.S. Route 50, just outside of Bridgeport.

 Upon their arrival, the driver of the tractor, who was trapped beneath the farm equipment, was pronounced dead on scene. 

 According to officials, the WV State Police are performing an investigation into the cause of the incident.

 The victim’s name had not been released by press time on Friday.
