TAYLOR COUNTY—The Grafton High School Entertainers have been taking the stage by storm this performing season, earning recognition for their outstanding abilities and talents.
And after competing at various events around the region, the Entertainers are excited to welcome other performing groups to their home stage at Grafton High School.
The Entertainers welcome the public to come and cheer them on during the 2022 Grafton High School Choral Classic, on Saturday, April 9.
The event is slated to kick off at 10:00 a.m., and with various groups attending, the fun and performances will continue until 5:00 p.m.
“We have two area concert choirs and a middle school show choir set to perform,” shared Grafton High School and Taylor County Middle School Director of Choirs Duretha Mayle. “In addition, six high school show choirs will take to the stage to compete for the top spot, including our own Entertainers Edition 51.”
Singing and dancing their way to top titles in their respective categories will be performers from Buckhannon-Upshur, North Marion, Notre Dame, South Harrison, Robert C. Byrd, Ravenswood and Capital High Schools, as well as South Martinsburg Middle School.
“We look forward to welcoming these groups to Grafton High, and are excited to take to our home stage,” voiced Mayle. “The Entertainers have been hard at work perfecting their show, and we are ready to take the stage by storm once more!”
This year’s theme is all about love, according to Mayle.
“We want to inspire others with our message of love,” she disclosed. “In a world where you can be anything, be kind and love.”
Songs heard in this year’s show include “The Love Parade;” “Crazy in Love;” “Call Me Maybe,” starring the girls; “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head,” presented by the guys; “The Love Shack,” with soloist Elias Rubenstein; “When I Fall in Love,” featuring soloist Makenna Mayle and the show’s closer, “I was Made for Lovin’ You.”
Those wishing to come out and show their support for the Entertainers while enjoying a day full of song and dance can do so for just $15 a person. Children under five years of age will be permitted into the showcase for free.
However, Mayle revealed that Entertainers only tickets will be sold for just $5, and that those wishing to come and cheer on their favorite show choir Bearcats should arrive in time for their 4:40 p.m. call time.
“To ensure that everyone has ample time, the Entertainers only tickets will go on sale beginning at 4:00 p.m.,” she disclosed.
And because the event is set to last all day, guests will be able to stop by the concession area or visit area food trucks during the Choral Classic, to fill their bellies, while supporting local businesses.
Mayle noted that those attending will need to enter through the main front doors of Grafton High School. Should anyone have any questions, they may contact her via phone at 304-265-3046 extension 3303.
“We would love to see the auditorium packed with friendly faces, as we take on the competition at this year’s Grafton High School Choral Classic,” expressed Mayle. “We’ll see you at the show!”
