Elbert “E.J.” Jennings Garlow, Sr., 85, of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home, Kingwood, with family by his side.
He was born in Clarksburg, October 14, 1931, son of the late Elbert Leo and Geneva Jennings Garlow.
E.J is survived by his wife of more than forty years, Colette Garlow.
He graduated from Washington Irving High School and Salem College with a degree in business and psychology. E.J. was regional sales rep for Koehring heavy equipment. He worked in the maintenance department at WVU. He enjoyed all sports, and the Pittsburgh Pirates was his favorite team. E.J. loved spending time with his grandchildren.
E.J. is survived by two children, Elbert “E.J.” Jennings Garlow, Jr. and wife Richelle, St Albans, Tammy Colette Smith and husband William, Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Cameron Ejay Garlow, Mason Carver Garlow, and Robert EJ Smith, as well as one brother.
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will held on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Casey Lieneman officiating.
Interment will follow at the Evansville Cemetery.
