Edith Lucille Mayle, 80, of Flemington, WV, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born in Taylor County on September 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Carl “Poppy” and Hazel Della (Sincel) Mayle.
Mrs. Mayle is survived by her husband of 67 years, Vincent “Duck” Mayle.
In addition to her husband, Lucille is survived by six children: Virginia “Ginger” Hawkinberry of Elk Garden, Nancy K. “Dudy” McCloud and husband Mick of Elk Garden, Carl V. “Tar” Mayle of Flemington, James A. “Jimmy” Mayle of Flemington, Edith M. “Edie” Mayle and husband Walter of Grafton, and Timothy “Mark” Mayle and wife Nancy of Bruceton Mills; thirteen grandchildren: James “Pooh” Hawkinberry, Angela “Nean” Thompson, Vincent “Vince” Bolyard, Eric Bolyard, Missy Mayle, Michele Mayle, Bradley Mayle, Jesse Mayle, Benjamin Mayle, Audry Anna Pitts, Sierra Hawkinberry, Chloe Hawkinberry, and Ethan Hawkinberry; nine great-grandchildren: Georgia, Parker, Alex, Andrew, Colleen, Chloe, Landon, William, and Owen; and a sister-in-law, Sheila Mayle of Grafton. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by seven siblings: Robert Mayle, John Paul Mayle, David “Sook” Mayle, Charles Sincel, Bill Sincel, Betty Norris, and Joan Dalton; and one granddaughter, Carrie Mayle.
Mrs. Mayle was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church and enjoyed going to church when she was able. Lucille was a great cook and enjoyed cooking meals and opening her home to family and friends. She loved spending time with her husband and best-friend, “Duck,” whether it was sharing coffee and watching television or sitting in the yard on the swing talking about their many memories. Her family was her greatest love, and she will forever be in their hearts.
Family and friends will be received at the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home in Flemington, WV, on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor DJ Maley presiding. Mrs. Mayle will lie in state at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the West Hill Cemetery.
