East Fairmont Lady Bees double up Bearcats 64-32


GRAFTON—The Grafton High School girls basketball team hosted the East Fairmont Bees on Wednesday night at the Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium.

The Lady Cats fell behind early and was never really in this contest. The Cats scored 17 points in the first half as they found themselves down 36 to 17 right before halftime. Luckily for the Cats they converted 9 of 11 free throws. The second half was a continuation of the first as Megan Kisner was the only Cat to add two points to the board in the third. The fourth quarter saw the Lady Knights and Bucs play to an 11 point tie.

Meredith Maier led the Knights with 12 points, followed by Fred Maloley with seven points. The rest of the GHS points were scored by Megan Kisner (5), Tori Jackson (4), Alyssa Satterfield (2), Bailey Toothman (1) and Mia Chambers (1).

The JV Cats also lost to the Bees 44 to 39. Hailey Skiles led the Cats with 12 points. The GHS points were scored by Amber Smith (7), Satterfield (4), Kenna Delaney (4), Sydney Friend (3), Isabella Swiger (3), Madison Summers (2) and Chambers (2).

The Lady Bearcats will be back on the road on Friday as they travel to Philippi. The JV game will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
