David Lee Donne, age 70, of Clay Street, Salem, VA, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020, at the Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA.
He was born February 12, 1950 in Baltimore, MD.
Parents William “Bill” and Dorothy Paugh preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Iris Lee Ridenour and half-sister, Charlene Paugh.
He is survived by one half-sister, Ada L. Eddy and husband William, of Wana, WV; two half-brothers: Richard Paugh, of Charlottesville, VA and John Pifer and wife Valerie, of Grafton, WV; three nieces: Tabatha McDaniel and husband Shorty, Crystal White and husband Frank and Sandra Wolfe and husband Dave; and five nephews: Robert Collins, Bryan Baublitz, Shawn Eddy and wife Nicole, Charles Ridenour and James Ridenour and wife Karen.
David retired from the US Navy after serving as an airplane mechanic/pilot during the Viet Nam War and continued to serve in the Naval Reserve for several years.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, in Grafton, on Friday, January 10, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon with Pastor Kevin Arkola officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the Naval Operational Support Center from Pittsburgh.
