Corrected dates for free sports physicals

GHS student dates added

GRAFTON— In preparation of the upcoming fall sports season, one local health clinic will be offering free sports physicals to Taylor County athletes.

With the three-week live period right around the corner, and many local coaches opting to utilize some of their allotted “flex days”, athletes will need to be prepared by having a completed physical form.

And to assist families with the cost, as sports physicals are typically not paid for by most insurances, as in the past, Preston Taylor Community Health Center, located across from Anna Jarvis Elementary School, at 725 N. Pike Street, will offer the service free of charge for Taylor County student athletes on select days and times.

This year, the free physicals will be conducted only on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3, beginning at 3:30 p.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m.

Addtional dates for Grafton High School students only, will take place June 6 through June 10, with a different day that week dedicated to each grade level, as a way to keep the process simple and quick.

Senior sports physicals will be offered first on Monday, June 6, then juniors may recieve theirs on Tuesday, June 7, while sophmore sports physicals will be conducted on Wednesday, June 8 and freshmen on Thursday, June 9.

The week of free physicals will conclude on Friday, June 10 with a makeup day for anyone that was unable to attend through the week.

All sports physicals are valid for a year’s time, so if your athlete participates in winter or spring sports the same physical can be used.

Taylor County Middle and Grafton High Schools have the necessary form available in their offices.
