Come out and drive for your school

TAYLOR COUNTY—Toothman Ford is pleased to invite the community to come out on Saturday, September 1, for an event that is sure to cause some excitement and help one local school.

The Drive 4 Ur School event will take place on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Grafton High School (GHS) student parking lot.

For every person who takes a test drive in a Ford vehicle during the event, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to GHS. In total, as much as $6,000 can be raised to help support the school.

According to Toothman Ford the money raised from the event will got to athletic teams and other school organizations.

“By taking a simple, free test-drive, you can support these programs and help your school in a meaningful way,” commented J.R. Toothman. “Please mark your calendars and invite family, friends and neighbors to join in supporting Grafton High School.”

According to drive4urschool.com, the event began in 2007, as a way for Ford to give back to communities across the country.

The idea was simple, test-drive a Ford vehicle from a local dealership, and get money for your school.

The success of the school program inspired the launch of Drive 4 UR Community, allowing Ford Dealers to partner with nonprofit organizations, as well.

Thousands of events throughout the country and $35 million in donations later, participants are still test-driving for a cause that they and Ford are equally passionate about, the website stated.

It’s no secret that school budgets are tight, often leaving various programs underfunded. The program is an effort to devise a creative, low-pressure fund-raising opportunity that can make a big difference for schools.

There is no purchase necessary. To participate you must be 18 years or older with a valid driver license and valid automobile insurance.

A donation of $20 per test drive will be made; up to 300 total test-drives, for a maximum donation of $6,000. Limit one donation per person and per household.

So, get ready to come out this Saturday and Drive 4 Ur School!
