LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Numerous lumberjacks will vie for a champion title in numerous events at the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® 2022 U.S. Championship.
The competition will feature 40 of the biggest and badest lumberjacks from across the United States competing in six different disciplines, including the Stock Saw, Hot Saw, Standing Block Chop, Single Buck, Underhand Chop, and the Springboard Chop events.
The Championship will see the top-20 male, top-12 female, and top-8 rookie lumberjack sports athletes in the country compete for the champion title
Cheer on Grafton native, U.S. National Champion, Matt Cogar, as he competes against some of the world’s best lumberjacks July 22-23, competing in the Men’s Pro Division.
Cogar won’t be the only one in his family will to in events during the championship. Arden Cogar, Jr., of Charleston, will also be competing in the Men’s Pro Division.
Jason Lentz from Diana, WV, the reigning 2021 U.S. and World Champion, is seeking to defend his title and Morgantown’s Josh Wilson will work to unseat him.
Amber Auld, hailing from Lewisburg, WV will take on the ladies in the Women’s Pro Division.
The fun and excitement starts on Friday at 12:00 p.m. CDT, as newcomers to the sport will work to claim the 2022 U.S. Rookie Championship.
Following, the Pro Division competitions will take place. Semi-finals for Pool A will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., with Pool B contestants getting in on the action beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday will see the ladies showcasing their skills during the Women’s U.S. Championship beginning at 3:00 p.m., followed up by the main event, the U.S. Men’s Championship contest at 6:00 p.m.
2022 marks the fifth year that STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® will have an official U.S. Women’s Division.
