City pool ready to welcome sunbathers and swimmers this season

The Grafton City Pool is going to open with caution for the 2021 summer season.

GRAFTON—The Grafton City Pool is going to open with caution for the 2021 summer season.

The pool is planning on opening Monday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 1:00-6:00 p.m., following state guidelines.

Admission for sunbathers, not entering the pool, is $1. Adults can swim for $4, and kids under six for $2.

Entering the pool after 4:00 p.m., the cost is half price, with adults paying just $2 and kids $1.

The pool holds family night every Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is $2 per person. Family night is scheduled to be held and will continue to be held throughout the summer season.

As always, the pool will be offering a variety of snacks and drinks available at the concession stand. This will include ice cream, pizza, pepperoni rolls, hot dogs and candy. The menu was being updated when speaking to the city pool manager.

The pool is available to rent for parties. The guidelines for the parties for now are set to only inviting close family members and keeping the party guest below a certain range so that safe social distancing may be practiced.

The rental fee is $80 for two hours and $30 for each additional hour. Also, the lifeguard rates are $20 per lifeguard for two hours and $10 per lifeguard for each hour after.

The number of lifeguards required for parties are three lifeguards for 1-30 patrons in the water, while four lifeguards will need to be utilized for parties of 31-120 patrons in the water and 121 or more swimmers will require five lifeguards.

Pool passes are available for $80 for the first family member and $60 for each additional family member.

In addition, Castle Creek Park pavilions will be open to the public for rent costing $30 for two hours and $15 for each hour after, or $100 for all day.

Families renting Castle Creek Playground for an all-day event, will receive admission to the pool for each person at just $2.

Last year, the city used the down time brought on by COVID to update the pavilion roofs and added new umbrellas to the pool area, plus other eye-catching refreshments.

Officials have shared that they are excited to be open for the Grafton Gators swimming season and they are also looking forward to having their staff back to work.

The pool staff is wishing to see everyone out and about this summer.

Opening of the pool is set for the weekend after Memorial Day. Opening of the pool and other swimming activities/park activities are subject to change depending on state mandates and guidelines that may affect the pool access.
