GRAFTON—Do you have the best chili in Grafton? Prove it.
Grafton’s annual chili cook off will take place during November’s First Friday, and organizers are looking for applicants. The fourth annual cook off will take place at Espresso Yourself Coffee House from 5:00-6:30 p.m., on November 1.
Sponsored by Arch Coal, they ask that all participants be at Espresso Yourself and set up by 4:45 p.m. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. for the cook off.
It shouldn’t have to be said, but just in case, there is no roadkill allowed.
Please have a name for your award-winning chili and indicate whether it is sweet, mild, medium or hot.
Contestants should bring a crockpot and extension cord and be ready to put their concoction to the test.
Each participant will be given a table and tablecloths will be provided. If applicants want to decorate their tables, they should feel free.
Contestants may also bring crackers, cornbread, sour cream, jalapenos, or any other condiments to help boost their recipe.
Winners will be chosen by people’s choice votes.
Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place winners.
Interested parties can email [email protected]. There is a $10 registration fee, and all proceeds will go to benefit All Aboard Grafton and their betterment of the community.
So, fire up the crock pot full of your award-winning chili and head down to the contest for some First Friday fun!
