GRAFTON—The Gump family has been a growing their business since 1988, and during summer 2020, the store converted from a Shop’n Save Express to an IGA (Independent Grocers Alliance).
“We decided to make the change to IGA to provide our customers with a better selection of products, at an even better price,” said Todd Gump.
After the switch, the Gumps began making changes to the inside of the establishment, as well. The store has received a complete remodel to refresh the new business name of IGA and new product line.
The Gump family has been proud to serve the community for decades and have undergone changes along the way. They have operated under different conglomerates, including Garden Fresh, Foodland, Shop ‘n Save, and now, IGA. No matter what entity they choose, many residents just simply refer to the business as Gump’s.
IGA offers three brand choices for better pricing including name brand products, always save product, and IGA/Best Choice product.
The company is an independent alliance founded in 1926, being family owned as well.
According to the company’s website, www.IGA.com, the corporations has over 6,000 stores worldwide.
With Gump’s being a proud IGA location, offering IGA products, along with their own, they have high hopes of a better product selection for the community.
And although they will be offering many new products, they will still be selling many of their hometown favorites, including their homemade pepperoni rolls, which are baked fresh daily. Fresh deli meat, sandwich rings, sliced, cheeses, and other store favorites are still available.
Thursday’s have always been known by the local shoppers as “hotdog day” at the store, and Gump shared that individuals will still be able to purchase two hotdogs for a dollar, that include their homemade chili.
The store also sells straw and propane.
Weekly ads that offer the best deals are published in the Mountain Statesman and can be found on the Mountain Statesman’s E-edition.
While the name may have changed, the store the staff, and dedication of the family-owned business will not.
“Gump’s IGA is always looking out for the community,” Gump said. “Hoping to bring better price options and food choices to the community.”
The Gump family is looking forward to serving you and your family.
