TAYLOR COUNTY—Accident? Broke down? Winch out? You can call CG&J Garage and Towing LLC. or A&M Towing and Recovery LLC for your vehicular woes for quality service.
Owners Aaron Ship and Megan Stemple saw the business start off and grow in July of 2017.
And what started out as them performing basic inspections, lead to a much bigger business and job roles.
CG&J Towing, along with A&M Towing are family owned. Some of the crewmembers include owners Shipp and Stemple, along with Stemple’s son Coaltin Shipp, his father Terry Shipp and a few family friends.
The business continues to offers inspections, along with many other services.
The office, located at 191 Sigmans Hollow Rd Thornton, WV is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.
However, knowing accidents and misfortunes don’t operate on schedules, the business offers, 24 hour towing services Monday through Sunday for those unfortunate automobile operators.
Combining both towing businesses together gives a grand total of eight trucks and one service truck. Travel distance is within a one-hundred-mile radius serving Taylor County, Harrison County and Preston County. Both companies are also on the 911 rotation.
The companies offer light, medium and heavy-duty towing.
One of the main goals the couple has set for summer 2021 is to accommodate the areas with reliable service. The companies both aim to fully serve and be there when called upon.
Shipp who has over 20 years of experience, shared “It’s an ongoing business. They call in and we head out.
Both companies try to attend community events and show their support to other establishments when possible. Both Shipp and Stemple have been advocates for small business matters, as they promote and share other small businesses and support local shops.
One of the bigger events they take part in is the annual Memorial Day Parade.
Since the onset of COVID-19, the business has not stopped, although with everything opening back up the companies are letting the counties know they are still here to serve.
“I started out with two trucks and have extended up to eight. We continue to get bigger and better. We will get the job done no matter what the situation is we will try to find a solution no matter what, not even the weather stops us from running calls,” said Shipp.
Stemple expressed her gratitude for the hard work the company puts in and how grateful they are for the customers who call when in need.
