TYGART LAKE—Another season of Music in the Park is set to begin at Tygart Lake State Park, so be sure to grab your friends and family and head out to the scenic surroundings for a show you won’t want to miss!
The official 2022 Summer Season of Music in the Park will kick off tomorrow, Sunday, July 10, when the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation teams up with Almost Heaven Desserts & Coffee to welcome musician Greg Harrison to the park to entertain guests of all ages.
“Whether you’re having a bite to eat at The Lodge or boating on Tygart Lake, I’ll be playing some of your favorites for you all to sing along with,” Harrison voiced. “Beautiful weather and live music are always a relaxing way to enjoy your Sunday afternoon!”
The Bridgeport native is not only a talented vocalist, but also plays guitar and writes is own songs. Writing, he says, has always been a way to express his soul.
“Writing to me is basically as if I am writing in a journal,” he said. “I write about my emotions and feelings in my life. I write about people in my life who inspire me or relationships I have been in and all of the ups and down that come with them.”
Harrison has recorded four of his original tunes: “Devil Woman,” “Be With Me,” “Sleep With You” and “One Day,” taking from his own personal life experiences.
His incredible ear for sound even earned him recognition in Nashville, but his life’s goal is to simply play music for those who will listen and enjoy it.
“Music is the only thing that my soul can absolutely get lost in,” Harrison said. “When I’m on the stage playing, it doesn’t matter if I’m in front of three people or 3,000 people. Music captures my life and lets me express my emotions and pulls me away from everything that can pull me down in this life.”
The local talent has been making a name for himself traveling throughout the area performing his classic rock and pop sound, and that is just want he will bring to the stage at Tygart Lake’s Music in the Park.
The concert will take place on the patio at Tygart Lake Lodge, overlooking the serene waters of the lake, and the show is set to commence at 2:00 p.m.
While the event is free and open to the public, donations are always welcomed and accepted by the foundation, as they continue to work to improve the state park for all who visit.
Donations may be mailed to the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation at 1240 Paul Malone Rd. Grafton, WV 26354.
