Betty Gail Newbrough, age 91, and resident of Westminster CO, formerly from Grafton WV, passed away March 16, 2018, at the Covenant Village Retirement Home, in Westminster, where she has resided for many years.
She was born October 20, 1926, in Grafton, WV. She was a daughter of Silas and Gay Childers Newbrough.
Betty Gail is survived by sister, Mary Jane Korth, of Grafton, and brother, William E. Newbrough, of Las Vegas NV, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by 2 sisters, Hallie Comer and Helen Kleinhans, and 5 brothers, Dorsey, Martin, Jack, Richard and James.
She graduated from Grafton High School in 1944 and Alderson Broadus College in 1948. In addition she did post graduate work at Kent State University. Betty Gail was a teacher at the California School for the Deaf, in Berkeley, for 30 years until her retirement. Prior to that, she taught at the West Virginia School for the Deaf in Romney WV.
Betty Gail had been a member of First Baptist Church in Grafton, and attended the Presbyterian Church in Arvada, CO. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, and Daughters of The Confederacy.
At her request, Betty Gail will be cremated.
A memorial service is being scheduled at Covenant Village in Westminster, CO. A local memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
