PRUNTYTOWN—On Monday, both of the TCMS basketball teams were back in action as the Knights hosted Elkins Middle School at TCMS, while the Lady Knights traveled to Elkins Middle School to face off against the Bengals.
In JV action, Kenny Humphries scored 12 points and Adrian Joyce added 11 as the Knights dropped their contest by the score of 40-31. Also scoring for the Knights were Mason Markley (4), Kaden Keener (3), McCray Blackwell (2), and Cam Foley (2).
In the boys’ varsity contest, the Knights would get consistent scoring from their starters but it wouldn’t be enough as TCMS fell just short in that matchup, 39-30. Isaac Lough scored seven points while three other Knights scored six points, including Jacob Maier, Harrison Maier, and Isaiah Vanscoy. Dustin Keener and Mason Dunham rounded out the scoring for the Knights with three and two points, respectively.
Brock Holland scored 17 points for the Bengals, connecting on five three-pointers in the contest, all in the second half.
In the girls’ JV game at Elkins, the Lady Knights played hard but would have a tough time getting much going offensively, dropping that contest by the score of 27-9. Kenna Keener scored four points for the Lady Knights in the loss.
In the varsity game, the Bengals would get the better of TCMS once again as they defeated the Lady Knights by the score of 33-20. Kambree Delaney and Robbi Jacobs led TCMS with eight and six points, while Tayler Rudy added three and Ally Mayle chipped in with two.
The Knights and Lady Knights will be back in action tonight and tomorrow as the boys’ team travels to West Fairmont Middle School tonight then hosts Belington tomorrow. The girls’ play the exact same teams but the schedule is flipped, as they host West Fairmont tonight and travel to Belington tomorrow. All four varsity games are schedule to tipoff at 6:00pm both nights.
