Beatrice (Betty) Lambdin Nuzum, 94, of Grafton, passed away at her home December 19, 2017.
She was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on June 27, 1923, the daughter of the late Albert Barton Lambdin and Celia Mays Lambdin.
She was known as Bea or Betty by her family and friends. Betty worked as a cosmetologist for many years. She loved spending time with family. Betty enjoyed decorating her home, sewing, and working in her many flower gardens. She was an avid Bible reader and prayer warrior. Betty always had an encouraging word. Until she became home bound, Betty attended Trinity Assembly of God Church in Fairmont and Message of Freedom Church in Grafton.
Betty is survived by her husband, Robert Earle Nuzum of 53 years.
She is also survived by a daughter, Jean Ann Dayton and her husband William of Grafton; two grandsons, Robert E. Dye III of Grafton (who along with her husband was her caretaker); and Donnie L. Dye and his wife Robin of Uniontown, PA; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Dye Richards and her husband Joshua of St. Marys; Aaron Dustin Dye and his companion Chelsea Simmons of Salem; Alyssa Dye of Grafton; Lauren Dye and Giauni Dye, both of Hopwood, PA; Connor Dye and Aiden Dye, both of Uniontown, PA; six great-great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Betty Jane Tonkery of Shinnston; one step-son James Robert Nuzum of Shinnston; a step-daughter-in-law, Rebecca Nuzum of Clarksburg; two step-grandchildren, James Robert Nuzum II and his wife Julia of Anmore; Amanda Nuzum Stottlemyer and her husband Michael of Grafton; and four step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Lambdin; and Junior G. Lambdin; and sister, Mary Opal Lambdin Butler.
Family and friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Michael Stottlemyer officiating.
Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
