Bearcub PeeWee team dominates Tygarts Valley 40-6


TYGARTS VALLEY – The Grafton Bearcubs played their final regular season game of the year last Sunday as the made the long journey to Tygarts Valley. The trip was worth the extra miles as the Cubs dominate the game and go on to defeat Tygarts Valley 40 to 6.

The Bearcub offense was led by Kaden Tate who had 16 carries for 198 yards with four touchdowns and one extra point. Jarrett Blackhurst was not far behind as he had five carries for 133 yards with two touchdowns and an extra point. Jacob Stavrakis added three carries for 26 yards while Javon Vanscoy and Troy Weber had one extra point apiece for the Cubs.

The defense was the big story on the day as they held Tygarts Valley to 93 yards total offense. Cristian Cox led the defense with four tackles followed by Jason “Ricky Bobby” Peters with three tackles. The remaining tackles were recorded by Jeremiah Scheuvront (2), Weber (2), Tate (2), Blackhurst, Cole Runner, Riley Humphries, Aaron Gallo, Vanscoy and Johnathan Metheny.

The next contest for the Bearcubs will be in the first round of the playoffs as the host Summerville. The game is scheduled for this Sunday at McKinney Field. The kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
