GRAFTON—The Grafton Bearcubs played their first games of the regular season, last Sunday, at McKinney Field, against Barbour County.
The Midget and Peewee teams had little trouble, as they both cruised to lop-sided victories. The Midgets won 54—7 in the first game, and the Peewees won 40—6 in the second.
In the Midget game, the Cubs scored early and often, as they were able to put 33 points on the board, in the first quarter.
The Bearcub touchdowns were scored by Kenny Humphries (3), Josiah McMasters, Ben Louzy, Jayden Owens and Charles Hoskins (2). Tristan Floyd converted on two extra point runs for the Cubs.
Humphries led the rushing attack for the Bearcubs, as he managed 127 yards on four carries. The remaining Cub rushers were Jayden Owens (3 for 100), Josiah McMasters (8 for 57), Ben Louzy (1 for 50), Bryson Bish (1 for 9), Cyrus Hake (1 for 6) and Charles Hoskins (3 for 100). The Cubs finished with 449 yards rushing.

The Peewee game was just as lop-sided, as they won 40—6.
Jarrett Blackhurst led the Cubs with 12 carries, for 149 yards, three touchdowns and one extra point.
Kaden Tate added 80 yards on 18 carries and recorded an extra point on a pass from Jacob Stavrakis. Stavrakis also added 51 yards on the ground, 22 yards in the air and scored two touchdowns for the Cubs. Stavrakis completed passes to Tate and Riley Humphries.
Also in the scoring column for the Cubs was Troy Weber, who scored on a 42-yard touchdown run.
