Bearcats fall in last regular season game

GRAFTON— The Grafton High School boys basketball team played their final regular season game, last Friday night, as they hosted the Eagles of Robert C. Byrd, at Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium.

The Bearcats never seemed to be into this one, as they fell to the Eagles 67 to 42.

The Cats once again came out slow, and found themselves down 18 to 9, at the end of first quarter, but they played closer in the second on their way to a, 32 to 19 point deficit at halftime.

The Cats came out inspired at the beginning of the third, as they cut the lead to eight, but that would be as close as they would get, as they fell to RCB 67 to 42.

Austin Young led the way for the Bearcats, in his last home game as a Bearcat, with 13 points.

Caleb Bish had the next highest total with 11,  followed by Dylan Dinaldo with eight.

The remaining points came from Cameron Forte (5), Anthony Robinson (2), Andrew Willis (1), Dylan Massie (3) and Austin Saltis (1).

The Junior Varsity game against RCB, was cancelled.

The Bearcats are back in action tonight, for the start of the sectional championships. The Cats will be traveling to Frankfort, to take on the Frankfort Falcons, in the first game of the section.
