FARMINGTON—The Grafton High School boys soccer team returned to the road last Tuesday night as the headed to Farmington to take on the North Marion Huskies. The Cats scored three in the first half and added one more in the second to shutout the Huskies 4 to 0.
Stetson Sanders stated the scoring for the Cats less than two minutes into the contest when he took a crossing pass from Eyan Moran and put it past the Husky keeper.
Sanders followed his first goal with a second goal just 10 minutes later he scored on a throw-in by Tanner Taylor. The next goal for GHS was scored by Kaden Moore as he stole the ball and then shot it by the goalie. The final goal for GHS came in the second half when senior Gabe Wolverton scored on a penalty kick.
GHS recorded 10 shots in the contest. Those shots were credited to Sanders (3), Marik Chambers, Conor Goldizen (3), Moore, Wolverton and Wyatt Price.
Wolverton and Chambers led the defense with a combined 4 steals in the contest. The remaining steals were recorded by Moore, Moran, Goldizen and Taylor.
The boys will be back in action tomorrow night as the head to Shinnston to face the Lincoln Cougars. The boys game starts at 6:00 p.m. with the girls game to follow at 8:00 p.m.
