GRAFTON—Head Coach Mickey Foley’s young Bearcat football team has endured some growing pains throughout the 2022 campaign. The Bearcats have 1-8 overall record, with a 0-6 record against Big 10 Conference foes entering this Friday, November 4’s season finale against the Lewis County Minutemen on the road in Weston.
The Bearcats are seeking to collect their first win since beating Hampshire by a score of 21 to 7 back on Friday, October 7. However, with the help of a bye week this past week, the Bearcats have had an extra week of preparation for the Minutemen; which never hurts with a young, inexperienced team.
In spite of their youth, several key impact players have emerged for the Bearcats including, but not limited to: Cam Foley (quarterback/outside linebacker), Triston Floyd (wide receiver/cornerback), Kaden Keener (running back/safety) Kenny Humphries (fullback/middle linebacker, defensive end), and Seth Horne (tight end/outside linebacker).
The Bearcats chances in the season finale will largely rely on how the coaches utilized the extra time preparing and how these impact players produce on the field.
