GRAFTON— Don’t miss out on the opportunity to receive the best, most up-to-date news coverage from your hometown newspaper!
The Mountain Statesman’s re-vamped website launched on March 1 and featured a more modern look with new user friendly features, such as a “just posted guide”, live video, trending articles and an easy to navigate drop down menu, which will take you to the different sections of the site.
In addition, the launch of the new site gave our staff the ability to share breaking news alerts, severe weather alerts and announcements received from local schools, the moment they happen.
Another new aspect of the website, is the ability for customers to sign-up, or re-new their subscription online, in only a few quick steps.
The upgrade to the site has been a work in progress, and the staff of the Mountain Statesman has worked tirelessly, taking feedback from the community and using it to make the site even more efficient, and, in turn, the website has received rave reviews, from multiple community members.
“It’s great! It is so much easier to navigate than before. In fact, I rarely ever used the old online version because it was so difficult. Great work on this,” expressed local resident, Alex Reneman.
At the site’s launch, all content was loaded in its entirety and free to anyone, regardless of his or her subscription status.
However, starting next week the content on the site will be metered for non-subscribers, meaning those without a subscription will have a limited number of views before a “pay wall” is hit, and they’ll be asked to subscribe in order to continue viewing.
“We made this upgrade specifically for our readers, to better serve them, and to be able to deliver news in a more timely fashion. We appreciate all the positive feedback we have received, and our staff hopes that the community continues to support their local news,” commented Editor, Nicki Skinner.
The staff of the Mountain Statesman, invites you to be a part of our family and not miss this great opportunity to not only stay up-to-date with the local news, but to also support the hometown paper.
