PHILIPPI—The Barbour County Chamber of commerce recently announced the potential cash prizes to be offered to the winners of the annual golf tournament sponsored by the chamber. Awards of $ 500 and $ 300, for the runners-up, will be given out during the yearly golf outing at the Barbour Country Club on Friday, September 9. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m., with play commencing at 10 a.m.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to assisting student programs at Philip Barbour High School. Teams of four can register for $ 280 and receive 18 holes of golf, free use of carts, lunch provided by Broaddus Hospital and cold beverages provided by the Barbour Health Association. Participants are also eligible for skills prizes, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. The door prizes will be donated by chamber members.
The Chamber of Commerce extended gratitude to Allegheny Insurance for providing “hole-in-one” insurance. There is a $ 10,000 cash prize for a hole-in-one, in addition to the increased cash prizes for the winners and runners-up.
