TAYLOR COUNTY—School is officially in session, and area elementary schools will be holding open houses to allow parents to tour schools, meet teachers and learn more about policies.
On Tuesday, September 3, Anna Jarvis Elementary School will welcome parents to the to an open house for all grades from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Co-President Kelbi Harman shared that immediately following the open house, they would like to welcome parents to stay for their first PTO meeting of the year.
During the meeting, parents will have the opportunity to hear about upcoming events, find out more information about the organization and learn how they how they can help with future activities at the school.
If you have children that attend Flemington Elementary School, they will be holding an open house for grades second through forth on Thursday, September 5, from 4:00-5:30 p.m.
An open house for grades kindergarten through first will be held on Tuesday, September 10, from 4:00- 5:30 p.m.
For those who have children that will attend West Taylor Elementary School, the school, will be holding open houses for first and second grades on Tuesday, September 3, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Parents who have children in pre-k and kindergarten are welcome to come to the school on Thursday, September 5, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., to meet the teachers and see the school.
The school will host an open house for grades third and fourth on Tuesday, September 10, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
In addition, the school would like to welcome parents to their new WTES PTO Facebook page.
“We are looking forward to a new great year with amazing parents and teachers at West Taylor,” they shared.
During the open house, the PTO will have a table set up and will be sharing information about the organization and their upcoming events.
They revealed that planning is already underway for their biggest event, the Fall Festival.
The festival is slated to take place on October 19, and they would like to welcome parents to be a part of it.
“We would like to invite you to our Fall Festival Planning Meeting schedule for Tuesday, September 3, at 7:45 a.m., and also at 7:30 p.m., after the open house for first and second grades,” they stated.
Back to school may be a hectic time for many, but Taylor County Schools are doing their part to make the back to school transition easier.
