Area roadways closed due to road repairs and maintenance


TAYLOR COUNTY—Those traveling in and through Taylor County may expect delays and closures on some of the area’s roads today and throughout the week.

The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that there will be a Traffic Delay on US

250, Beverly Highway from the Junction of US 119 to the Junction of US 50 beginning on Thursday, June 06, 2019 at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, June 14, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. Day Time Operations Only.

There will also be a Traffic Delay on US 250, Beverly Highway from the Junction of US 50 to the Junction of County Route 250/5 beginning on Thursday, June 06, 2019 at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, June 14, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

The DOH would also like to announce that there will be a Road Closure on County Route 30, Wilson Ridge Road, from the Junction of County Route 50/13 to the Junction of County Route 119/16 beginning on Thursday, June 06, 2019 at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, July 14, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

Then, on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 7:00 a.m., through Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., a Road Closure will be in effect on County Route 50/21, Old Route 50 East from the Junction of US 119 to the Junction of County Route 50/12, during day time operations only.

Additionally, the West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that there will be a Road Closure on County Route 7/6, Hickory Lane from Mile Post 1.06 to Mile Post 1.66, along with a Road Closure on County Route 9/5, Paradise Cove Road from Mile Post 0.00 to Mile Post 0.38, beginning on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 7:00 a.m, through Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

There will also be a Road Closure on County Route 30/2, Walnut Lane from Mile Post 0.00 to Mile Post 0.53 during that time frame, as well.

The purpose of these Road Closures are for road repair, work on shoulder and ditches. Work will be performed throughout the project.

According to the DOH, one lane Two-Way Traffic will be maintained with flaggers on the routes experiencing the traffic delays. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute, while routes with complete closures will need to be avoided.

Local traffic and emergency responders will be accommodated as necessary.

Please note that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
