Another slow start leads to another Bearcat loss

CLARKSBURG—The Grafton High School boys basketball team faced Big Ten foe RCB last Tuesday night, in Clarksburg.

Once again, the Cats came out of the gate at a snail’s pace and found themselves down 38—15 at the half.

The Bearcats would win the second half of the contest 30—24, but that would not matter, as you have to add together all four quarters to win the ball game.

The final score saw the Cats go down in defeat again, 62—45.

Garrett Moats and Blake Moore led the Bearcats with 10 points apiece.

The remaining Cats in the score book were Dylan Massie (9), Caleb Bish (7), Ryan Maier (5), Jack Faulkner (2) and Logan Beltner (2).

In the JV contest, the Bearcats held a six point lead with less than four minutes to go, but could not find a way to stay on top, as they fell 50—48.

The JV Cat points were scored by Ryan Maier (19), Carson Lambert (7), Xavier Floyd (6), Joe Charlton (6), Tavian Taylor (4), Isaiah Stottlemyer (4) and Luke Wiseman (2).

The Bearcats will be back in action on Saturday, when they travel east to face Petersburg. Let’s hope the referees show up for this one.
