Annual Bearcat Scramble scheduled

TAYLOR COUNTY— In preparation for their upcoming season, the Grafton High School (GHS) golf team will be hosting their annual fundraising event later this month.

The Third Annual Bearcat Scramble has been set for Saturday, April 23, offering participants a chance to grab some friends and spend the day on the green while supporting the Grafton program. 

The event will be held at the Bearcats’ home course, Tygart Lake Public Golf Course, located at 3948 Knottsville Road. 

The cost is $200 per team, with registrations starting at 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the event. 

Competition will begin with a shotgun start at approximately 9:00 a.m.

Lunch will be provided for participants and unlimited mulligans are available for $10 each.  

Prizes will be awarded for longest drive, closest to pin and longest putt. 

In addition, first place and second place finishers will be award cash prizes of either $600 or $400. 

Those who are interested in supporting the GHS golf team but are a little rusty on their swing can still show their backing with a Hole Sponsorship for $100. The Business, individual or organization’s names, as well as their logo will appear on the hole sign.
