Alley Cats registration deadline is quickly approaching

GRAFTON— The Taylor County Alley Cats are looking forward to a new season on the hardwood and are still accepting applicants.

The Alley Cats will boast teams for second graders, a group for third and fourth grade and for participants in fifth and sixth grades being on a combined team.

Online registration is occurring now and can be completed by visiting ncwvgb.com.

“Make sure that you select the correct grade and recreational division,” shared Coach Andrew Moore. “Once registered please let us know so that we can start building the teams. We must field at least eight players to form a team and cannot create an additional team if that minimum number of players is not obtained.”

Additionally, the final in-person registration event will be held on October 9, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. at Taylor County Middle School.

Those wishing to play for the Alley Cats this season will need to be registered before October 9.

The league is open to all Taylor County girls in grades two through six. The registration cost is $85, and there will be an additional fee for each player’s uniform.

The Alley Cat teams will play against other programs within the North Central West Virginia All Girls Basketball League. The season will consist of 10 games, followed by playoffs, with games being played in Morgantown.

Practices will be held one day a week, with an additional meeting on Sundays, until games officially begin. The first week of practice will kick off during the week of November 7.
