Additional Halloween events added to county lineup

TAYLOR COUNTY—As a way to help children celebrate their annual traditions of Halloween, area communities are coming together to provide Trunk or Treat experiences.

The Thornton community will be hosting a drive-thru trick or treat event at the old Thornton School on Friday, October 30th.

Children and families are invited out to this special event from 6-7:30 p.m.

Those wishing to distribute candy, should arrive at 5:30 p.m. Please call 304-677-3162 for information.

This event has been approved by the Grafton-Taylor County health department. Hope to see you there!

Additionally, the Flemington EMS will be hosting a free Trunk or Treat for kids on Saturday, October 31, from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Flemington EMS is encouraging families to come out to let the kids have some normalcy and have some fun.

Individuals are encouraged to participate in the event by decorating their vehicles and passing out candy to the kids.

The event will take place at in the Flemington EMS parking lot, located at 133 East Veterans Memorial Highway, in Flemington.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3081 Auxiliary will be be handing out treat bags during trick or treat on Saturday, October 31, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., in front of the post home on Main St.

Parents won’t even have to take their kids out of the vehicle if they don’t feel comfortable doing so.

Additionally, the Church of the Good Shepherd will be hosting a drive-through Trunk or Treat event in the church parking lot, located at 3025 Lucas Dairy Road, on Friday, October 30, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Families are invited to drive through with their children in their scariest or funniest costumes. Children will receive a variety of Halloween treats.
