Soon, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day. A day to give thanks for all the goodness of God for each one of us. God is so good to us. We aren’t always good, but he still loves us. What are we thankful for? Our families, homes, friends, but most of all, Jesus Christ and his love for us. We have food on our tables, shoes on our feet, clothes on our back and for most, our health.
Some people are never thankful. People don’t appreciate all that they have. They think they earned the money for their house or cars, but if it wasn’t for God, where would we be? We can do nothing on our own. We should give thanks to God every day.
I thank him every day for my brothers and sisters, my nieces and nephews, my home, my food. Everything I have comes from God. I have the best family anyone could ever ask for. I love them all. They are special to me. I thank God for them every day. You shouldn’t take your family for granted. They can be taken away from you without any notice.
The Psalmist David said, “Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me. Bless his holy name.” I thank God for saving my soul. He’s a good God. I wouldn’t trade him for anything. He is my all and all. He has gone away to prepare a mansion for me and for all who will serve him in spirit and trust. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Stop and think about what you have to be thankful for. Write them down on paper and begin to thank God for all of them. Count your many blessings one by one and you will see what God has done. Be thankful not only at Thanksgiving, but every day. He’s worthy of our thanks and our praise.
Yours in Christ Jesus
