TAYLOR COUNTY—Come out for a day to celebrate all things creative at the 2019 ArtStock celebration.
This will be the 4th Annual ArtStock Festival held at Hartland Lake Marie in Knottsville, and organizers, Tom and Donna Hart, are looking for vendors for this year’s event.
The artisan festival is held the first Saturday in September every year, with this year’s date being September 7.
Past years have seen a variety of artisans and vendors booths in the stunning setting of Lake Marie. Vendors have included wood crafts, paintings, jewelry, up cycled products, baked goods, tie- dye, massage, soaps and lotions, honey, food vendors and many others.
Classes offered have included painting, photography, mixed media, meditation and more.
Not to be missed is the morning nature yoga class with Breanna Collins of Appalachian Flow, that kicks off every festival. Suited for every level of Yoga student, the morning nature class is a beautiful start to the day in a gorgeous setting.
“We always seem to have great weather that really compliments the whole experience. The morning Yoga class has only grown over the years and is one of my favorite parts of the day. This year’s class starts at 9:00 a.m., and I hope to see everyone there,” said Collins.
Another yearly constant is the ArtStock wall that lines one side of the lovely Lake Marie. Attendees flock to the wall and the provided paint to add their own art to the day.
The second year also saw a car that attendees painted, and last year, local Grafton High School students got together to paint a piano that is now on display for the public at Toad hall.
Artists that just want a beautiful place to practice their art or teach a class are also welcome. Demonstrations in the past have included painting, photography and wood working.
Another highlight is the incredible music that sets the mood for the day. Local musicians take the stage during the day to entertain festival goers.
Many attending the festival come just to grab something to eat and set at the picnic tables to enjoy the entertainment. Others take advantage of the catch and release fishing in the lovely lake.
Be a part of this wonderful day that brings much success to local vendors, as well as visitors to our community. Vendor fees are $35 for juried exhibitors, $25 for nonprofits and $65 for food vendors.
The Festival hours are from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., vendors are asked to have their booths set up by 8:30a.m., on Saturday morning.
If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please contact the Harts at Espresso Yourself Coffee House located on W. Main Street Grafton, or by email at [email protected].
